This is the final update on the build of this Camel. There’s not a huge amount to say really, as only a small amount of the rigging remained to be completed. In fact only 3 or 4 wires needed to be added, and they were only delayed because I’d run out of the necessary wire when I made the previous post. Continue reading SOPWITH CAMEL F1 (2nd Build) – HASEGAWA 1:8 (Part 4)
Well it’s been considerably longer since the last post than I intended, but I’ve been busy doing the ill thing again.
Progress on the Camel hasn’t been static for all that time though and it is now practically complete and I’m looking towards my next project which is of a more nautical nature. Continue reading SOPWITH CAMEL F1 (2nd Build) – HASEGAWA 1:8 (Part 3)
Work has continued to go well on this second Camel build and a number of modifications have been incorporated as a result of experience gained during the first build. Continue reading SOPWITH CAMEL F1 (2nd Build) – HASEGAWA 1:8 (Part 2)
The blog has been quiet for the last couple of months, but not due to inactivity at MBIQ Mansions. I am in fact in the process of building a second Hasegawa 1:8 Camel F1, this time as a commission. I’ve been contemplating whether it was worth documenting the build as 90% of it is a straight repeat of my first build covered earlier. Continue reading SOPWITH CAMEL F1 (2nd Build) – HASEGAWA 1:8 (Part 1)
I had hoped to be able to write this post a bit earlier, but I’ve been waiting in vain for some good weather to take a series of photographs of the model in a decent setting out doors where there is the space to do so. However, it’s either been too dull, windy or just plain raining recently. I will get some better pictures as soon as I can, but in the meantime a few gash ones taken quickly will have to suffice. Continue reading SOPWITH CAMEL F1 – HASEGAWA 1:8 (PART 15) Final Assembly
Having finished the fuselage the one thing that did remain to be completed was the installation of the seat and fitting of the padding around the cockpit rim. Continue reading SOPWITH CAMEL F1 – HASEGAWA 1:8 (PART 14) Seat and Coaming
Having finished the cockpit area of the fuselage I couldn’t resist fitting the aluminium panels to complete the picture. Continue reading SOPWITH CAMEL F1 – HASEGAWA 1:8 (PART 13) FUSELAGE COMPLETION
With the basic fuselage structure complete it was time to start equipping it. Continue reading SOPWITH CAMEL F1 – HASEGAWA 1:8 (PART 12) FUSELAGE Continued
Having successfully dodged the main event in this model I’d reached the stage where I had to get going with the fuselage. I don’t know why I’d been putting it off, but I had. Continue reading SOPWITH CAMEL F1 – HASEGAWA 1:8 (PART 11) Fuselage
